George was almost 12 when his mother just disappeared. Then the man he thought was probably his father began writing him letters about how to live in Daytona Beach, and especially how he shouldn’t tell that his mother was gone.
He thought his father murdered his mother, but the way things were seemed wrong for that vision. He had to go about the 7th grade as if things were just fine, and his psydo-father did provide money for him. But said for sure he was not the father.
George goes out into the wild world and makes his own place in it. He becomes sort of financial father of his own country — Volusia County Florida.
